AI in your interview evaluation

Axil is a hiring-operations platform used by recruiters and hiring managers to structure their interviews and synthesize feedback. The platform uses AI (large language models) in three places. This page explains what the AI does, what it does not do, and your rights as a candidate.

What the AI does

  1. Transcribes your interview recordings into text, with speaker labels (via Recall.ai and Whisper).
  2. Summarises the transcript and the hiring team's structured feedback into a debrief document for the hiring manager.
  3. Highlights alignment and gaps between the candidate's background and the role's requirements, based on the team's feedback.

What the AI does not do

Your rights

You have the right to:

Legal basis

Axil processes your data on the basis of legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) - to enable the hiring company to consider you for the role. You have the right to object under Article 21. Where applicable, the processing is also disclosed under EU AI Act Article 26(7) as a deployer transparency obligation.

Compliance posture

Axil is designed against the EU AI Act's high-risk-AI framework for employment-screening systems. Standards under the Act are still being finalised; we do not claim certification under them. Current safeguards include: text-only processing (no biometrics), no automated decision-making on hiring, human-in-the-loop synthesis review, and mandatory human disclaimers on every AI-generated output in the platform.
